Aha Naa Pellanta (1987 film)

Aha Naa Pellanta Telugu is a 1987 Telugulanguage comedy film starring Rajendra Prasad, Rajani, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Brahmanandam. This film was directed by Jandhyala and produced by D. Ramanaidu. This is regarded as a classic Telugu comedy. Based on the novel Satyam Gaari Illu by Adivishnu, the films plot revolves around how Krishnamurthy Rajendra Prasad, son of a rich industrialist Nutan Prasad and in love with Padma Rajani, clashes with her father and overcomes his greed for money. The films title is the title of a song from the hit Telugu film Mayabazar. The original song and its video from Mayabazar play during the opening credits.

Jandhyala is the first director in Telugu to introduce funny characteristic traits to the characters in the film. Later on many directors followed this trend. In this movie those traits became very popular. Especially the miser character became a trend setter and the actor himself repeated the role in many other movies. In this movie Nutan Prasad gives a long lecture about his family to every person who says that he dont know him. Ara gundu always murmers when ever he becomes disgusted with his masters greediness. Laksmipathys brother in law behaves madly whenever he comes up with his stupid ways to save money. Thus these characters became very successful and made the movie a classic.It was released onNovember 1987. Since then it has developed a cult following among its fans.
